For whatever reason, being broke has nearly become an aesthetic. Rich people like to buy ripped jeans, and pre-dirtied shoes to come off some kind of way, even though they're secretly wealthy. Naturally, these kinds of efforts can make people who actually have financial issues quite uncomfortable. For them, thrift shopping is not a trend, it's just the most affordable option.

On Reddit, people are sharing what screams,'I'm rich but I pretend I'm poor' and people definitely did not hold back.

    I wouldn't have such a big issue with this one. But it should be noted that sometimes people don't do this to avoid flexing their car. Some people park all the way in the back of a parking lot so people are less likely to hit their expensive car.
